How We Work
At Peas & Queues, we have a lot of different skills up our sleeve. Just take a look at those lists! Like we said, if it has words, April will be happy to take care of you. Just send us an email telling us what kind of project you need help with. April works on either an hourly or per project rate, based on all sorts of pesky details like length, complexity, time expected, metaphorical heavy lifting required....you get the idea. After we iron out the details, we'll provide a contract, and we won't color outside of the lines without permission. Editing services are based on a standard manuscript page rate of 250/words per page, and April will even provide you a free, five-page editing sample to get you all amped up and excited to start.

Maths: Through the mythical powers of Excel, I will make sure your stitches and rows match your gauge and your pattern
CopyEditing: Typos? Grammatical mistakes? We don't want those, no, no, no! Readability: You want me to do what and how? Don't worry, if it can be said more clearly, we'll make it happen Content: Materials? Check. Abbreviations explained? Check. Stitch patterns? Check, check, and double-check so you don't have to. Additions: Need schematics? A chart generated? Layout designed? How 'bout grading? Heck, we'll even type up the pattern from your notes. |
Substantive Editing: The big picture, re-write, re-organize, then continue sort of stuff
Line Editing: Taking a look at paragraphs, improving flow, sentence structure, and clarity CopyEditing: Fact-checking, consistency, and deviling details like grammar, punctuation, and usage Proofreading: Don't mind me, I'm just going to make sure auto-correct didn't have its way with you |
